Just pure speculation here, but I'd say this is one of those guys who keeps his gun in the center console or door pocket of his car, and had no handy place to put it when he stepped out of the car. Not only did the guy walk up to the truck, blocking the guy in, with a gun in his hand, but the guy in the truck didn't fire until the hand that had previously had the gun in it was suddenly raised up. He doesn't have to wait until he's shot in the face to be like "hmmm, I don't think he switched hands with the gun he's illegally brandishing and threatening me with." It's sad a mother has to bury her child now, but it's nobody's fault but his that he got fucking ventilated.

Put yourself in the pickup, someone points a gun at you with their right hand. You can't see down there that he moved the gun to his left hand, but you see that right arm coming up again. It looks clear to me that the driver of the pickup had every reason to think the gun was coming up to shoot him, self-defense. I would never say 100% without knowing the full facts. I'm only seeing pictures from a video of the man walking up to the white truck with gun in hand sure, but what happened before that point? Did the man in the truck do something to provoke the man in the green shirt before that point? Context is important. Was there an event that happened before the video started rolling that exists in witness statements?
